If you’ve ever looked up while standing on a historic Charleston porch, you’ve likely seen it: Haint Blue.

For generations, this soft, ethereal aqua has been painted on porch ceilings across the Lowcountry. Originally intended to ward off "haints" or restless spirits, it has become a symbol of the Southern porch—a place of rest, long conversations, and, of course, a perfectly chilled glass of tea.

When we designed the Pinky's Up label, we moved toward this authentic coastal shade. We wanted our tea kits to feel like a piece of the Holy City. By pairing the protective tradition of Haint Blue with our elegant wisteria florals, we’ve created a look that is Playfully Proper: a nod to the past, with a fresh, modern pour.

How to Prepare Your Pinky’s Up Premium Concentrate

Each kit is designed to create a vibrant, botanical base.

  1. The Brew
Bring 0.5 gallons (2 quarts) of water to a boil. Remove from heat immediately.

  2. The Steep
Add the entire contents of your Pinky’s Up Tea Kit. Steep for
    exactly 4 minutes.
Chef’s Note: Precise timing is key to extracting the florals without the bitterness.

  3. The Chill
Strain the tea leaves and allow the concentrate to cool completely. Keep covered and refrigerated for up to one week.

  4. The Service (1:3 Ratio)
Shake well before pouring (natural tannins like to settle).

  • Iced Tea: Mix 1 part concentrate with 3 parts cold water.

  • Tea Latte: Mix 1 part concentrate with 3 parts milk or alt‑milk.

Why Not Too Sweet?

At Pinky's Up, we use just enough organic cane sugar to act as a highlighter for the botanicals. This concentrate is designed to let the Bergamot and Lavender shine, giving you the "Quiet Luxury" of a downtown tea room in your own kitchen.
